Dr. Armstrong brings years of pastoral ministry experience to our area. He has served a wide range of congregations from the innercity of Dorchester, MA and Elizabeth, NJ to rural Strafford, NH where he served three American Baptist Churches at the same time. Pastor Armstrong, however, is no stranger to the area after having served for eight years at the First Baptist Church of Bedford, MA. A native of New England, Pastor Armstrong has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts in "Ethics in Social and Political Philosophy", a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Andover Newton Theological School. His Doctorate, through the Department of Psychology and Clinical Studies, is entitled "Pastoral Ministry to People in Crisis: Theory, Identification, and Intervention". Having gained some expertise in Leading Transformational Change in Congregations, he is presently working with a team of redevelopment pastors in the greater Boston area to help facilitate a deeper experience of spiritual and relational vitality to some of our struggling churches. His most noteworthy skills are in the area of preaching, leadership training, transformation in congregations, and embracing our core faith beliefs within the midst of radical cultural change.
Pastor Armstrong's wife Linda works as a Clinical Research Project Manager and has extensive experience in many areas of medical research - as well as a number of years as a Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Nurse and also as a Pediatric Clinical Research nurse.
